Welcome Dr. Anu Madhavan!
This week we are delighted to welcome Dr. Anuradha Madhavan to the UCSF Division of Geriatrics faculty. Dr. Madhavan completed her Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at Stanford University this past June. She also holds a PhD in Physiology and Biophysics. She is joining our clinician educator faculty. She will be attending on the UCSF Geriatrics Inpatient Services at Moffitt-Long Hospital, including our Acute Care for Elders Unit, Geriatrics-Orthopedics Co-Management Service, Age-Friendly Emergency Department Service and Inpatient Geriatrics Consults. This includes teaching our Geriatrics and Geriatric Palliative Care Fellows, medical residents, and medical students who rotate through these services. Dr. Madhavan has been actively involved in teaching trainees the art of clinical reasoning throughout her own training. She is passionate about providing both education and career mentorship for trainees. In addition, she will be part of our Dementia Care Aware Program to improve dementia screening in clinical practice. We also look forward to learning from her expertise in using clinical informatics to answer real-world clinical questions and research inquiries. At Stanford she worked with Atropos Health to provide prognostogram consults to improve the evidence base for clinical decisions.
