Response to COVID-19

Michi Yukawa, MD was quoted in a San Francisco VA Health Care System article "Bridging the Social Distance Through Technology". This is a story about the use of donated iPads and tablets with CLC Veterans to help them maintain connection with their love ones during the COVID pandemic.

Anna Chodos, MD, MPH was a presenter and panelist for a talk on the health risks of climate change for older adults, as part of the Osher Mini-Medical School course on The Health Emergency of Our Changing Climate: Challenges and Opportunities.

Since May 1st, four faculty have been activated part-time to support the SF DPH COVID-19 response to Skilled Nursing Facilities, Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly, and Adult Residential Facilities.

Eric Widera, MD was the senior author on a JPSM paper titled “Prognostication and Proactive Planning in COVID-19” discussing current evidence base looking at prognosis in COVID.  

Alex Smith, MD and Eric Widera, MD were co-authors on a JAGS paper titled “Pandemic Palliative Care Consultations Spanning State and Institutional Borders” describing the rapid development and implementation of a scalable virtual consultation model staffed by out‐of‐state palliative care specialist volunteers.
